Start Date: September 14, 2026
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 48 hours per week, 13-week contract, every other weekend and holiday required

Highlights:

• High-volume labor and delivery unit with approximately 2,000 annual deliveries
• Comprehensive patient population including low-risk certified nurse midwife patients and high-risk maternal fetal medicine cases
• State-of-the-art facility with 8 private labor rooms, 4 private triage beds, and 2 OB operating rooms
• Epic charting system experience required
• Cross-training opportunities to Mother/Baby unit with potential float to NICU (feeders/growers)
• Patient ratio of 1-2 patients ensuring quality, focused care
• 36 hours of comprehensive orientation provided
• Maximum 40 hours of approved time off during contract

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Active Virginia RN license (pending licenses accepted if obtained by Wednesday before start date)
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and Fetal Monitoring required; ACLS preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Demonstrated competency in high-risk and low-risk obstetrical care
• Experience with cesarean section circulation (required), postpartum hemorrhage management, and neonatal resuscitation
• Ability to triage obstetrical patients and recognize abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Proficiency in magnesium sulfate therapy, IV therapy, and venous blood draws
• BSN preferred
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
