Inside Sales Account Manager
Greater Cleveland, OH | Industrial Distribution · $70–$80K base + incentive & commission
About the Company
Our client is a growing industrial distributor specializing in fasteners, Class C components, Vendor Managed Inventory, and supply chain solutions. The company is expanding through strategic acquisitions and continued market growth, creating strong opportunities for long-term career advancement.
Position Overview
This role will manage and grow existing customer accounts, support new business development, and serve as a key connection between customers, Outside Sales, Purchasing, Operations, and Logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow assigned customer accounts
- Identify upselling, cross-selling, and account expansion opportunities
- Prepare quotes, process orders, and respond to RFQs
- Support Outside Sales with territory and strategic account development
- Understand customer applications, inventory needs, and purchasing patterns
- Coordinate with Purchasing, Warehouse, and Logistics teams
- Support VMI, integrated supply, and in-plant programs
- Monitor open orders, inventory availability, and delivery timelines
- Maintain accurate customer and sales activity in CRM and ERP systems
- Resolve customer issues quickly and professionally
Qualifications
- Three or more years of inside sales, account management, customer service, or sales support experience
- Industrial distribution, manufacturing, OEM, fastener, or MRO experience preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities
- Experience with CRM or ERP systems such as Salesforce or Prophet 21
- Customer-focused, proactive, and solution-oriented approach
- Vendor Managed Inventory, integrated supply, or Class C component program experience a plus
- Experience supporting outside sales teams within a territory-based sales model a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $70,000–$80,000 (flexible based on experience) + incentive and commission potential
