Additional Information About the Role Anesthesia Tech I/II - Full Time St. Louis Children's Hospital | 6th Floor Operating Room Are you looking for an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced surgical environment while working alongside anesthesia providers and clinical teams? St. Louis Children's Hospital is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to support patient care and surgical services. What You'll Do Turn over operating rooms between cases Prepare and stock supplies for surgical procedures Set up and maintain anesthesia equipment Assist anesthesia providers with equipment and procedural needs Support off-site anesthesia locations including MRI, Cardiac Cath Lab, and Interventional Radiology Schedule Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Approximately 4 call shifts per month (weekday/weekend rotation) 1 holiday call shift per year Preferred Qualifications Prior hospital experience required Patient care experience preferred Experience as a Patient Care Technician, Pharmacy Technician, Anesthesia Technician, or similar healthcare role is highly desirable Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a team-focused environment Overview St. Louis Children's Hospital is dedicated to improving the health and lives of children. Preferred Qualifications Prior hospital experience required Patient care experience preferred Experience as a Patient Care Technician, Pharmacy Technician, Anesthesia Technician, or similar healthcare role is highly desirable Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a team-focused environment Role Purpose Provides skilled assistance to anesthesiology providers, such as assisting with special procedures, preparing equipment and supplies and providing medications for use by anesthesiologists. Responsibilities Prepares IV, central lines, and sets up transducers. Assists with rapid infusion of blood products, processes blood specimens, and completes EKG tests. Sets up, primes, and calibrates various equipment. Completes and documents quality checks on various equipment. Assists with special procedures to include, but not limited to, line-placement, fiber optic intubation, hemodilutions, echocardiograms, EEGs and regional anesthesia. Minimum Requirements Education High School Diploma or GED Experience 2-5 years Supervisor Experience No Experience Preferred Requirements Licenses & Certifications Anesthesia Technician Certified Nurse Assistant
