Desired Skillset

This specific role is focused on software development of a large high-availability application written in C++ using an object-oriented design. Heavy use of command line interfaces is common for this role, and strong knowledge of Unix and Linux will support this skillset. Understanding financial transaction processing, such as the ISO-8583 standard, is a strong desire for this role; Payment industry knowledge preferred but not required. In general, candidates should be skillful at writing secure code in multiple languages; familiar with secure coding standards (e.g., OWASP, CWE, SEI CERT) and vulnerability management. Proficient in documenting and coaching team on the development practices and coding guidelines (e.g., branching, peer reviews, library use, logging, scanning rules, test-driven development, error handling). Has skills to undertake a technical review of code across applications and their dependencies to look for anti-patterns and promote continuous refactoring. Understands and elaborates technical debt and operational issues to drive prioritization discussions with stakeholders to improve the run experience. Able to perform domain-driven design to architect and map software solutions to business contexts.
