Contract Duration: 24 Weeks (40 hours/week) Schedule: Full-time Work Arrangement: Hybrid (4-5 days in office) Location: New York, NY 10018 Employment Type: W2 Contract Start Date: ASAP Openings: 1 Role Description As an Assistant Merchandiser - Women’s Apparel , you will support the merchandising team in developing and executing product strategies that align with brand direction, consumer needs, and market trends. You will collaborate closely with Design, Product Development, Supply Chain, Sales, and other cross-functional partners to support the successful development, launch, and management of women’s apparel collections. Key Responsibilities Assist in the development and execution of seasonal product strategies aligned with brand direction and consumer needs. Support the creation and maintenance of line plans to meet financial targets and market demands. Create and maintain market tools, assortment guides, and internal presentations for sales, retail, and cross-functional partners. Assist in managing the merchandising calendar and ensuring key deadlines and deliverables are met. Support sample management by tracking, reviewing, and providing feedback to facilitate timely product updates. Communicate line updates and changes across cross-functional teams. Maintain accurate product attributes across systems on a seasonal basis. Collaborate with Design, Product Development, Supply Chain, Sales, and other cross-functional partners to support cohesive execution. Conduct competitive research to identify market trends and evolving consumer preferences. Analyze sales data, market trends, and consumer insights to identify opportunities and support merchandising decisions. Support merchandising needs across various markets while gaining exposure to regional differences and customer preferences. Assist with day-to-day merchandising activities and ensure product information remains accurate and up to date. Help monitor seasonal product development and ensure alignment with merchandising objectives and key milestones. Qualifications Experience 1-2 years of experience in Merchandising, Buying, Product Development, or a related field. Internship experience in merchandising, buying, retail, or product development will be considered. Experience within the fashion, apparel, retail, or consumer products industry is preferred. Education Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Business, Fashion, Retail, or a related field. Skills Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and consumer insights. General understanding of retail math. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite , particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Proactive approach to problem-solving and follow-through. Customer-focused mindset with an interest in understanding consumer behavior and how product decisions impact customer experience and business performance. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate product updates clearly. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and eligible for W2 employment. Must be located in or able to commute to New York, NY for the required hybrid schedule. Must be available to work 4-5 days in office. Must be available to start ASAP.
