About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, NRP, Advanced Fetal Monitoring Must-Have: Fetal heart rate monitoring and interpretation, neonatal resuscitation, and maternal assessment, and IV skills. Description: The position requires management of labor and delivery, postpartum maternal care, newborn care, and GYN surgical patients. The unit utilizes paper charting, an electronic medication administration record, external fetal monitors, dopplers, infant warmers, newborn scales, and electronic blood pressure machines. The nurse will work 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, with nights and weekends required. There is no call requirement. Employees will never be assigned as charge nurses or be the only RN present in the facility during their shifts. Floating to assist in the emergency room, medical-surgical floor, and specialty care unit will be required, but there will be no patient assignment. The unit has two birthing rooms and four postpartum rooms. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 during active labor. Client-issued scrubs are required to be worn during shifts. There is specific training and orientation for the role to become familiar with systems and clinical practices. Cancellation policy requires a two-week notice.
