Details Work in the MS/Tele unit of a short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center teaching hospital Patient ratios of 1:5-6 Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) Required to work every other weekend No on-call responsibilities Floating required within hospital or sister campus depending on booking Uses Epic EMR Requirements Active RN license (NC state or Compact) currently in hand; pending licenses not accepted Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS - preferred), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele nursing experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Epic EMR experience required Teaching hospital and Trauma Level II experience preferred Previous charge nurse experience preferred Must pass an Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information Provide medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams Skilled responsibilities may include IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions/PPE Scrub color requirement: royal blue and white Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the main campus to be eligible for travel positions; local candidates within this radius are not accepted Returning staff must be gone for 1 year before returning as a traveler Extension limits apply: day shift travelers may extend once, night shift travelers may extend twice, then must wait 6 months before reapplying RTO is limited to a maximum of 4 days, with only 1 holiday approval permitted, per manager discretion First-time travelers are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-745345.
