Compensation: Hourly pay starting at $17–$25/hour, negotiable based on credentials and experience. The final rate will consider skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Thrive Pet Healthcare – The Heights is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our collaborative, patient‑focused team. We proudly serve cats and dogs in the Houston Heights area, providing wellness care, vaccines, spay & neuter services, and end‑of‑life care—and we’re committed to being a trusted family vet for our community

What You’ll Do

As a Veterinary Technician, you’ll play a key role in delivering high‑quality patient care by:

• Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures
• Supporting anesthesia, surgical assisting, and post‑operative care
• Preparing patients and surgical instruments for procedures
• Monitoring anesthetic patients (ASA I–III; ASA IV–V experience preferred)
• Collecting laboratory samples and performing in‑house diagnostics
• Operating digital radiography and advanced diagnostic equipment
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
• Accurately documenting patient histories and medical records
• Maintaining clean, organized, and sterile treatment, exam, and lab areas
• Using safe restraint techniques to ensure patient and team safety
• Supporting and mentoring fellow team members

What We’re Looking For

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience
• CVT/LVT/RVT credentials encouraged
• Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical assisting
• Strong attention to detail and clinical observation skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Comfort working in a fast‑paced, high‑quality general practice setting
