Leeville - Underground Geotechnical Engineer I or II

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an Underground Geotechnical Engineer II or III at our Leeville operation. Responsibilities:Independently perform work which involves visual inspections of the underground mining activities to identify rock hazards, provide recommendations and monitor excavation performanceEnsure adherence to the Ground Control standards and maintain the ground support QA/QC program, such as rockbolt pull-testing and UCS of shotcrete and backfillUtilize rock mechanics properties to design ground support as neededCollect, analyze and report on geotechnical monitoring data and maintain databasesReview and advise on mine and stope designsAssist with ground control safety training programsSupervision of consultants and contractors, as necessaryThe candidate will also periodically assist with geotechnical mapping underground and geotechnical core logging for specific drill programsPerform other duties as assignedQualifications:Minimum requirement: B.S. Degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering or Geology.Geotechnical Experience: Underground 3-5 Years, Geotechnical Design WorkExperience with rock mass classification systems, geotechnical analysis, structural mapping, ground support designs and underground mining QA/QC programs. Familiarization with various geotechnical software packages. Team leadership, problem solving, and excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Flexibility in work hours for on-call and call-outs, as needed. Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently.
