Travel Cath Lab Tech Location: Des Moines, IA Duration: 13-week assignment (with potential extension) Shift: 4x10s, 7am - 5:30pm, One call weekend a month Pay Package: Taxable Wages $1120; Nontaxable weekly stipend $1,246; Gross Weekly Pay $2,366 A Cath Lab Technician, also known as a Cardiac Catheterization Technologist, performs a range of duties including direct patient care and diagnostic evaluations. Duties & Responsibilities Provides direct patient care to individuals with implanted cardiac devices. Provides diagnostic evaluation of patients’ cardiac rhythm. Assists in triple lumen catheter placement. Performs lab administrative duties and supply inventory. Participates in an environment that ensures quality work, group morale, and maintains effective lines of communication. Assists physicians in cases of adverse reaction or in acute emergencies as necessary. Demonstrates knowledge of emergency codes, location of emergency equipment, and method of activation. The Cath Lab Technician may also assist the Cardiologist or Electrophysiologist with providing cardiac patient care, perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, and insert small catheters through a needle into the blood vessels and heart for imaging. Qualifications Education: Associate and Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Cardiovascular Technology, Technical, Nursing, Health, Natural Science, Engineering, Associates, Graduate, Radiology. Licensing or Certifications: ACLS, BLS, RCIS, ARRT, CPR, EKG, IABP, PALS.
