Staff Accountant Smyrna, GA (In-Office) $65,000 – $75,000 Base + Discretionary Bonus About the Company Growing Atlanta-based equipment leasing company expanding its accounting team. Position Overview The Staff Accountant will support core accounting operations, financial reporting, and process improvements. This role will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all accounting functions. Key Responsibilities Perform general accounting functions including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving variances Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities Assist with development and improvement of internal controls, policies, and procedures Handle tax-related filings including sales tax, property tax, and other compliance requirements Support internal reporting and assist with ad hoc projects as needed Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate financial data Cross-train across accounting functions (AP, AR, etc.) to support team coverage Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 3+ years of general accounting and/or audit experience (mix preferred) Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Experience preparing financial statements and supporting reconciliations Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment Self-starter with strong attention to detail and leadership potential Preferred Qualifications Experience with lease accounting, service contracts, or commission structures ERP or accounting system experience (e.g., ECI E-automate, QuickBooks) Background in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or Inventory accounting Experience with budgeting and forecasting #J-18808-Ljbffr NorthPoint Search Group
