We are seeking an enthusiastic Leasing Consultant to join our team in New Haven, Connecticut. Have sales or customer service experience? We encourage you to apply! Previous leasing experience is welcome, but it is not required. We love to train motivated people and help them build a career in property management. Retail, hospitality, restaurant, and other customer-facing experience can be a great foundation.

Your Role

As a Leasing Consultant, you will guide prospective residents through the leasing process, support current residents, and help the community achieve occupancy and renewal goals. You will work closely with property leadership and the maintenance team to provide a positive experience from the first inquiry through move-in and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Welcome prospective residents and create a friendly, professional first impression.
• Respond promptly to phone calls, emails, online inquiries, and walk-in visitors.
• Conduct apartment and community tours, explain availability and pricing, and help prospects identify options that meet their needs.
• Follow up consistently with prospects and maintain accurate records of leasing activity.
• Assist with rental applications, required documentation, lease preparation, and move-in coordination.
• Support renewal outreach and resident retention efforts.
• Answer resident questions and coordinate with the appropriate team members to address concerns.
• Assist with marketing outreach, social media content, and resident events.
• Maintain organized prospect records, resident files, and leasing reports.
• Keep the leasing office, model apartments, and tour routes presentable.
• Coordinate with maintenance regarding apartment readiness and resident service requests.
• Assist with move-ins, move-outs, and apartment turnover.
• Follow Fair Housing requirements, applicable laws, and company policies.
• Work with the team to achieve leasing goals while delivering excellent service.

Qualifications

• Sales, customer service, retail, hospitality, or apartment leasing experience preferred.
• Previous property management experience is not required; training is provided.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional approach.
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and follow through on commitments.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Comfortable using computers, email, and learning property management software.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Availability to work scheduled weekends and provide additional coverage during peak leasing and turnover periods.
