Phlebotomist Floater

Job Overview LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to serve patients in Birmingham, AL. The role involves performing blood collections via venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups, including specimen collection for drug screens, paternity tests, and alcohol tests. Work Schedule Monday – Friday. Scheduled hours vary between 6:00am and 6:00pm with rotating Saturdays. Job Responsibilities Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups. Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc. Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information. Process billing information and collect payments when necessary. Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis. Maintain patient and specimen information logs. Provide superior customer service to all patients. Execute administrative and clerical duties as needed. Travel to additional sites when required. Ensure full vaccination status for COVID-19 or qualify for medical or religious accommodations. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Two (2) years or more of phlebotomy experience. Preferred Qualifications Three (3) years or more of phlebotomy experience. Additional Job Standards Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency. Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Comfortable working under minimal supervision. Flexibility to work overtime as needed. Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and reliable transportation. Minimum age of 21 years. Float Incentive Additional $1.00 per hour plus mileage reimbursement. Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, with a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
