Senior Accountant

Key Responsibilities Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes Assist with preparation of internal and external financial reporting packages Analyze general ledger activity and investigate account variances Support revenue accounting, production accounting, joint interest billing, and lease operating expense analysis Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules Assist with audit requests and support year-end audit activities Ensure compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies Collaborate with operations, land, engineering, treasury, and finance teams on accounting matters Support process improvement initiatives, automation efforts, and system enhancements Assist with special projects, acquisitions, and ad hoc financial analysis as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 4+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting Experience participating in month-end close and account reconciliation processes Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis Experience working with ERP systems and accounting software Preferred Experience CPA designation or CPA-track candidates highly preferred Exposure to reserve-based lending, SOX controls, or SEC reporting is a plus Experience with system implementations, automation, Power BI, or reporting tools Why Consider This Opportunity?
