Phlebotomist - Evening/Night Shift

POSITION: Phlebotomist DEPARTMENT: Laboratory HOURS: 80 hours per pay period / Non-Exempt SHIFTS: Evening/Night shift including rotating weekends & holidays Evening Shift: Weekdays 1:00 pm- 9:00 pm Night Shift: Every other weekend 6:00 pm - 6:00 am Rotating holidays required UNION: Yes UNION NAME: Local 113

WAGE RANGE: $18.75 - $27.98

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Phlebotomist is responsible for performing routine blood collections and specimen processing while providing excellent patient care. This role also includes DOT and Non-DOT collection certification and serving as a Laboratory Information System (LIS) operator. Additional clerical duties may be assigned as needed, along with supporting overall laboratory safety and cleanliness.

EDUCATION/TRAINING

Graduate of a certified phlebotomy program or medical program, a graduate of a certified Medical Assistant program, or an individual with either a high school diploma or equivalent with documentation of previous phlebotomy training and experience.

SKILL(S)

Must have good communication skills with a pleasant personality and attitude. Will need to be capable and comfortable working directly with patients and/or their families. Typing and computer knowledge and skills are desirable but not required.

EXPERIENCE

Experience preferred but not required.
