Generator Technician

Pearce is a leading technology-enabled provider of asset management solutions for mission‑critical electromechanical infrastructure throughout North America. Pearce provides technical maintenance, repair, operations, and engineering services for uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, backup power generators, battery energy storage systems (BESS), critical cooling systems, and other electrical and mechanical infrastructure across markets such as renewable energy, telecom, and data centers. Core Responsibilities Maintain generators, diagnose and repair problems, install and replace components or entire systems, and perform additional maintenance or upgrades on out-of-season equipment. Conduct performance checks and regular maintenance on generators to ensure proper readiness; read and follow blueprints or other design specifications to install or repair. Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and other components, and test for proper operation. Respond promptly to Power/Generator alarms and be on call 24/7 if necessary; answer assigned phone and email messages in a timely manner. Work with awareness of all potential hazards associated with the installation and maintenance of power supply equipment, switching gear, and other equipment, including falls, electric shock, falling objects, and traffic; use safety equipment and safety practices, and attend designated safety training meetings. Core Experience Two or more years of experience with generator maintenance preferred and a minimum of one year of intense work‑related experience with generator and electrical maintenance‑related software, hardware, and processes. Thorough knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repair of generators; knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components; moderate computer skills. Basic knowledge of pertinent FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations. Physical / Work Environment This position requires lifting over 50 pounds, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and standing for long periods of time. Must be able to inspect and troubleshoot equipment/alarms effectively, both visually and audibly. Must be willing and able to drive long distances, and work day, evening, or night hours, overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays as required; must assume 24‑hour on‑call duty when assigned and be away from home for extended periods of time. Must be able to pass a DOT physical. Compliance with OSHA standards and other safety requirements. Compensation Base Pay Range: $30 USD - $40 USD per hour.
