Boiler Technician

Job TitleThis position requires maintaining and operating of Metrolina Greenhouses' boiler systems, their components, and their associated equipment which includes biomass boilers, natural gas boilers, ESPs, wood and ash conveyor systems, large front-end loaders, and skid steers. It also involves performing regular inspections, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This role will be required to work 12-hour shifts in a rotation that adjusts per season.Key ResponsibilitiesA successful candidate should be capable of working independently without constant supervision. This includes managing tasks, troubleshooting issues, and making decisions in the absence of direct supervision.Must be willing and able to follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.Flexible working hours and overtime is needed as the system requires maintenance and operation outside of regular working hours.Experience with front-end loaders and skid steers is necessary as this includes understanding the proper operation and maintenance of the equipment.Troubleshoot issues and repair or replace components ensuring overall functioning within the system.Other duties as assigned by management.Minimum QualificationsAttention to detailAbility and willingness to work in confined spacesMechanically inclinedAbility to work unsupervised and independentlyAdherence to safety protocolsAbility to work a flexible scheduleFamiliarity with large grading and loading equipmentWillingness to learn and perform general maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and hydronic systems associated with the Boiler systemPreferred QualificationsFamiliarity with Boiler maintenance and operationsWelding ExperienceElectrical ExperienceJob Setting & Physical DemandsThis position is primarily outdoors but may be required to work between locations and within an indoor office environment for administrative duties, which may require the use of computers and standard office equipment. Fluency to read, write, and understand the English language is required. Must be able to work in all outdoor elements, including dust and allergens. There are occasional needs to work in confined spaces. Position requires long-term ability for standing, sitting, squatting, bending, reaching, and twisting on a regular basis to fulfill essential duties. Candidate must have the ability to operate all machinery necessary within the department and across the facility, including but not limited to driving the scooter.
