Registered Respiratory Therapist

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides specialized care to patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders. This role involves assessing, treating, and monitoring patients while collaborating with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective respiratory therapy. Key Responsibilities Assess patients’ respiratory status and develop individualized care plans. Administer respiratory treatments including oxygen therapy, nebulization, and mechanical ventilation. Operate and maintain respiratory therapy equipment such as ventilators and oxygen delivery systems. Monitor patient responses to therapy and adjust treatment plans as needed. Perform diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood gas sampling and pulmonary function testing. Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, treatments, and home care practices. Document patient care accurately in medical records. Adhere to hospital policies, infection control, and safety standards. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. Required Qualifications Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy. Current license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Ability to work effectively in high-stress and fast-paced environments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in acute care, ICU, or emergency settings. Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred. Certifications (if any) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. A dvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification may be required depending on patient population. #J-18808-Ljbffr
