Fitter/WelderMeyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa Subsidiary is hiring Fitter/Welders for our plant located in Steele, AL. As a Fitter/Welder, you'll use jigs/holding fixtures to lay out pieces to be welded according to blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders. You'll then use manual/semi-automatic/automatic welding equipment to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials.Meyer Utility Structures is a proud subsidiary of the infrastructure company, Arcosa, Inc. Meyer Utility Structures is an industry leader in the engineering design and fabrication of tubular steel structures for transmission, distribution, and substation applications.What you'll do:Repair weldsAssist with the completion of tasks to meet deadlinesApply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches using manual, automatic welding and/or semi-automatic welding equipmentWeld clips and hardwarePerform full penetration (such as slip joint) welds to weld ends to poles or channelsOperate grinding equipmentMay lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassembliesMay position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand toolsMaintain quality and efficiencyObserve all standard safety practicesPerform other duties as assignedWhat you'll need:Minimum of 1 year of experienceFlux Core experience preferredAbility to perform horizontal and vertical welds preferredAbility to perform multi-pass weldsAbility to perform "C" (circumference) weldsAbility to maintain 90% pass rate on UT inspectionAbility to maintain good attendanceMUS276Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
