Automation Systems Engineer

We are seeking an Automation Systems Engineer for a prominent technology company in Los Angeles, CA that specializes in innovative and sustainable building solutions. In this role, you will collaborate with clients, sales teams, and engineers to develop advanced smart-building systems.This position is fully remote with frequent travel across the United States, potentially extending to international locations as needed. Candidates must have existing authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.Please note that this role does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. independently.The primary focus of this position is on solution design and technical sales, emphasizing expertise in designing comprehensive building automation solutions and articulating their value to clients.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct client meetings to identify operational and technical demandsArchitect complete building automation systemsCreate system architectures, integration plans, and technical proposalsIntegrate various systems such as HVAC, lighting, security, and energy managementCollaborate with sales teams on proposals and presentationsDeliver tailored solutions to enterprise clientsWork closely with engineering and implementation teams to ensure project successQualificationsDemonstrated experience in designing building automation or smart-building solutionsMinimum of five years in building automation, IoT-enabled facilities, or building systems engineeringFamiliarity with BMS platforms, cloud-based building management solutions, and integration protocolsKnowledge of HVAC controls, lighting systems, security, and energy managementExperience in consultative sales, pre-sales engineering, or solution developmentStrong communication and presentation skills for client interactionBachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or similar field, or equivalent work experienceWillingness to travel up to 50% as needed for projectsExperience primarily focused on installation, maintenance, commissioning, mechanical assembly, or field service may not align with the requirements of this role.
