Wine Educator

Job Description:

St. Supéry Estate Vineyards & Winery is looking for talented people to host winery visitors, share our wines and our stories, and sell our wines and Wine Clubs. In this exciting position, you will provide guests with an educational and enjoyable wine tasting experience while perpetuating the highest standards of courtesy and hospitality. Weekends required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Host guests for wine tastings and tours.
•  Educate guests on St. Supéry wines and engage for repeat business, and recommendations
•  Sell wine and acquire new Wine Club members
•  Execute sales promotions and marketing campaigns as directed
•  Other duties may be assigned.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

•  Strong customer service and sales experience with ability to sell wine club memberships and expand the customer database.
•  General wine knowledge and familiarity with St. Supéry wines
•  Hospitality or Sales experience preferred
•  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•  Able to lift and carry 40 lbs.
•  Must be available to work scheduled days and have flexibility to work different schedules or hours as the business demands

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
•  Minimum age of 21 to pour wine.
•  Minimum 2 years in a hospitality or sales position.
•  Must have a valid California driver’s license and a good driving record.
•  Knowledge of winemaking processes and varietals a plus.
•  Sales experience with a premium brand preferred.
