This role is responsible for coordinating consultant work, producing high-quality construction documents, and supporting the Project Manager in maintaining schedules, budgets, and work plans. The Job Captain works collaboratively within project teams and may independently manage smaller projects while contributing to larger, more complex efforts. The ideal candidate is technically strong, highly organized, and comfortable balancing production responsibilities with coordination and team leadership.The position is located in our Ontario, CA office. The position requires 3 days in the office and the ability to work from home Mondays and Fridays. We offer a flexible work schedule with every other Friday off (M-F 730am -530pm).Responsibilities:Coordinate project documentation with internal team members and external consultantsPrepare and organize complete drawing sets for SD, DD, and CD phasesDevelop complex plans, elevations, sections, and details under supervisionIntegrate design intent into technical documentation through all project phasesCoordinate with governing agencies and utility companies to support plan check approvalsAssist with material and system selection, construction detailing, and specificationsParticipate in cost estimating and value coordination effortsSupport construction administration activities, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and change documentationWrite meeting minutes, instruction bulletins, change orders, and professional correspondenceAssist with proposals, marketing materials, and interview effortsManage small projects including schedules, staffing, budgets, and billing coordinationTrack hours for assigned tasks and perform work within established budget parametersSupport and help direct assigned staff; may supervise 1–2 team members on projectsCommunicate project status clearly and consistently with the Project ManagerParticipate in office design charrettes and professional activitiesRequirements:Professional degree in Architecture or equivalent demonstrated proficiencyMinimum 5 years of experience in architectural production and document coordination across all phasesAdvanced proficiency in Revit on an enterprise platform, including file setup, modeling, coordination, and troubleshootingProficiency in Rhino, Enscape, and CAD-based documentation toolsStrong understanding of construction documents, specifications, and building systemsDemonstrated knowledge of applicable building codes and ability to perform independent code analysisAbility to coordinate effectively with consultants, agencies, and internal teamsStrong written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated judgment, decision-making skills, and willingness to take responsibilityFamiliarity with and adherence to firm procedures, standards, and documentation protocolsThe salary range for this position is $65,591 - $98,550 annually.
