PRN Student Radiation Technologist Location: University of Cincinnati Medical Center Department: Radiology-MRI Hours: PRN Shift: Varies This position supports the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging services under the direct supervision of licensed Radiologic Technologists and Radiologists. Qualifications: Minimum Required: High School Diploma or GED. Current enrollment in a Radiology Technology program (or pending enrollment) that is certified by the JCERT or a graduate of a Radiology Technology Program certified by the JCERT and awaiting Licenses as a Radiographer. Must achieve CPR certification within 8 weeks of employment. YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: No prior professional radiology experience required. Responsibilities: Venipuncture training preferred. Basic understanding of radiographic procedures and anatomy appropriate to educational level. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Willingness to learn and accept constructive feedback. Engages in population appropriate communication. Has knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks. Recognizes and responds to signs/symptoms of abuse or neglect. Prepare patients for imaging procedures by verifying identity, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort and safety. May perform venipuncture for procedures based upon exam criteria. Work with the nursing units to coordinate and transport patients as necessary. Prepare labels and containers for contrast administration. Comply with all hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and regulatory requirements. Assist with clerical or operational tasks within the imaging department, such as answering calls, as assigned. Research patient’s previous exams and reports in EPIC.
