As an Armed Security Officer at a public library location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide courteous customer service and clear communication to patrons and staff. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to library patrons, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and contacting emergency services when needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout library facilities, surrounding grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and public areas, report suspicious activity or hazards, and document incidents and observations accurately and promptly.
• Maintain a professional presence while interacting respectfully with diverse members of the public and supporting a welcoming government library environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
