CAD Technician

The selected CAD Technician will be a key addition to the team for heavy civil and heavy industrial projects in the gulf region. This position is primarily in the office, with some occasional regional travel. Key Responsibilities Support heavy civil and heavy industrial construction operations through a combination of construction surveying, field layout, CAD/modeling, quantity takeoff, and machine control data management. Generate earthwork models and utilize Civil 3D tools to perform quantity calculations and prepare “heat maps” depicting areas of deep cut and/or fill. Produce improvement plans, exhibits and drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, working under the direction of a Licensed Civil Engineer. Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from civil engineers to ensure that they conform to design concepts. Grading, Drainage and Utility design Draft plan and profile views of improvement plans, such as street, storm drain, and other underground improvements, using smart labels, and other methods. Finish and duplicate drawings and documentation packages, according to required mediums and specifications for reproduction using blueprinting, photography, or other duplicating methods. Qualifications 3+ years of experience with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D HS Diploma or GED Prior experience with land development projects Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Ability to prepare conceptual designs utilizing a combination or Google Earth, AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D as appropriate Ability to calculate earthwork, grading, paving, utility, and concrete-related quantity takeoffsStrong math and problem-solving skills Understand the order of work and method of presentation, based on different drafting requirements for each agency Prior survey experience is a PLUS Compensation Package Salary $70k-115k (based on experience and certifications) Discretionary Performance Bonuses Per diem Health/Dental/Vision 401k Company Equipment and Stipends We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
