Intern, Clinical Pharmacist Year 1

Your Role Here's what you will be doing: Perform pharmaceutical procedures for medication preparation and distribution under the direction of a licensed Pharmacist. Ensure safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy. Provide pharmaceutical support to the patient's plan of care based on diagnosis in a timely manner. Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety. Support the staff pharmacist and gain experience required to be eligible for the pharmacist licensure examination. About You The company is looking for candidates with: Completion of at least two semesters or three quarters in an accredited school of pharmacy. Pharmacy Intern (PHARMI) certification. Working knowledge of home infusion pharmacy operations is desired. Knowledge of medical terminology, generic and trade pharmaceutical names, pharmaceutical calculations, and laws and regulations. Understanding of different pharmacy practice settings, including narcotic delivery and procedures. Ability to identify and employ pharmaceutical and medical terms, abbreviations, and symbols used in prescribing, dispensing, and record keeping. Basic working knowledge of legal requirements and accreditation standards including NABP, The Joint Commission, Title XXII, DHS, DEA, FDA, and USP. Written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences. Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including prioritization and adherence to standardized procedures. General knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, pharmaceutical technology, electronic health records (EHR), and EPIC. Compensation & Benefits Pay range: $41.75 per hour. Training & Development Gain the hours of experience required to be eligible to take the licensure examination to become a pharmacist.
