We are seeking a Scientist/Laboratory Project Leader to join our team!

Responsibilities:

• Complete microbiological tests, shelf studies, and commercial sterility tests utilizing an aseptic technique and maintaining documentation to support ongoing projects
• Plate pouring, aseptic technique, media preparation, and population determination of biological indicators.
• Prepare various food samples for chemical and biological analysis using good aseptic technique
• Perform media preparation/sterilization and utilize an aseptic technique during sample preparation.
• Maintaining logs and record books; troubleshooting and resolving problems and helping with special projects.
• Write client reports by interrupting scientific data. Send reports to clients and review the data with the clients.
• Keeps laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
• Resolves problems by examining and evaluating data and selecting corrective steps.
• Completes projects by assisting the project team and attending and participating in group and project meetings.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
• Enhances laboratory and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Be able to engage with customers about laboratory activities
• Having the ability to work independently and work with a team depending on the situation during a workday.
• Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

 

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a lab technician or in other related fields
• Familiarity with common lab terminology
• Experience in a laboratory setting
• Strong organizational skills
• Customer service experience is preferred
• To interpret collected data, use key math calculations

 

Education:

Bachelor's degree in:

• Food Science
• Biology
• Microbiology
• Related scientific field
