Substitute Teacher - Weekly Pay, Training Provided! Aubrey, TX - Aubrey ISD, Denton County $100.00 - $115.00 / Day Aubrey ISD Substitute Teacher OVERVIEW: The Substitute Teacher is responsible for leading classroom instruction in the absence of a regular teacher. A qualified substitute carries out the educational program, follows lesson plans, and ensures classroom routines are maintained.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms. Review and implement the regular teacher’s routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives. Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment. Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to the school administration. Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions. Evaluate and grade students’ class work, assignments, and papers. Supervise students’ fieldwork, internship, and research work. Maintain student attendance records and other required records. Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues. Compile, administer, and grade examinations, or assign this work to others. Serve on academic or administrative committees related to institutional policies and academic matters. Issue written and oral instructions; assign duties and examine work for correctness and compliance with policies. Perform other duties as directed by the school administration.

COMPETENCIES

Language, Math and Reasoning Language Skills: Read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and correspondence; present information verbally in individual and group settings. Math Skills: Perform basic arithmetic, compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Abilities: Apply common sense to detailed written or oral instructions; solve problems with a few concrete variables in standardized situations. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING: Minimum high school diploma or GED required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: There are no specific requirements for this position. COMPUTER SKILLS: Excellent skills in Microsoft Windows. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Often required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers, and reach with hands and arms.
