Industrial Maintenance Technician

Job TitleEssential Functions:Tests and repairs malfunctioning production equipment/machinery and notifies appropriate personnelInstall equipment, machines, or programs to meet specificationsPerforming routine maintenance on equipment and determine what maintenance is neededAlign machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, and micrometersAssemble and install equipment using hand and power toolsUses welding skills/equipment (TIG, Stick, Torch) to fabricate and repair chutes, conveyors, hoppers, etc.Basic knowledge to use, Milling Machine, Brake press, Drill press, and general machine shop equipment to modify dies, reels, Metal parts.Repair machinery, mill, drill press, and other tools as required.Understand hydraulic principles, pneumatic principles etc.Demonstrate high level of mechanical aptitude and must possess the knowledge of timing of cams and gears, how to set backlash, replace bushings.Maintains current knowledge and actively addresses safety and environmental issues.Other duties may include: janitorial, plumbing, pipefitting, painting, security, carpentry.Perform other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree from a Technical College preferred3-5+ years maintenance experience; Apprenticeship or Journeyman experience preferredAbility to complete basic mathematical calculationsForklift Truck ExperienceStrong mechanical aptitudeAbility to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to complete routine PM documentsUnderstanding and compliance with safety rules and regulationsAbility to navigate CMMS software or other PM softwareStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong time management and prioritization skillsInternal drive and interest in personal developmentITW is an equal opportunity employer.
