Speech-Language Pathologist Acute Care

Schedule: 8-Hour Days

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 26 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 72 Hours Biweekly

Requirements:

• 4-5 years of experience
• Level 1 trauma center experience
• Experience with acute trachs and vents
• Fully competent in either MBS or FEES
• EPIC experience required
• ASHA (American Speech and Hearing Association) certification
• Active MA license
• Must have been separated from the previous organization for 6+ months

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and treat patients with speech and swallowing disorders in an acute care setting.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Conduct assessments using various evaluation methods including modified barium swallow studies.
• Document patient progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with facility policies.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding speech and swallowing disorders.
• Ensure adherence to best practices and safety protocols in patient care.
