Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Psychiatric Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/09/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 50 hours per week Shift: 10 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in an outpatient residential behavioral health setting. This role involves supporting residents in their daily activities and ensuring their well-being in a therapeutic environment. Key Responsibilities Assist residents with their morning and evening routines, including medication administration and personal care. Monitor and facilitate medication management using locked medication boxes within residents’ homes. Engage residents in activities such as games and walks, promoting social interactions and physical activity. Document care plans and goals, updating as necessary to reflect residents' progress. Provide life skills training and support to help residents achieve independent living. Participate in care coordination and team meetings to discuss resident progress and interventions. May be required to float within the specialty as needed, assisting in various resident homes. Schedule This position operates on a rotating day schedule, working five 10-hour shifts. Typical hours include: 07:00 - 09:00: Assist with morning routine and medication pass. 09:00 - 12:30: Break while residents attend group sessions. 13:00 - 21:00: Participate in afternoon and evening activities with residents. Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; first-time travelers accepted with strong behavioral health experience. Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, specifically EPIC. Additional Information The average census for this program is 23 residents, with patient demographics ranging from adults to geriatrics. A company car will be provided to travelers for activities and commuting between residences, should they choose not to use their personal vehicle.
