How you'll contribute: A Patient Services Representative who excels in this role: Facilitates the patient referral process and obtains appropriate pre-certifications as requested by the provider(s). Responsible for greeting patients; check-in, check-out, scheduling and managing telephones and messages. What we're looking for: Patient Services Representative: Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Preferred Minimum Work Experience: 2 years Medical Office experience Preferred. Experience with Medical Referrals Preferred Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Certifications: BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) More about UP Health System Portage: Your Regional Medical Center UP Health System Portage has been serving Michigan's Western Upper Peninsula since 1896.
