Position Snapshot Our front desk and host position ensures Guests' initial impressions with Dave & Buster's are positive and welcoming. The front desk/host positions require a strong communicator who will guide our Guests through their retail, game rental and dining experiences. Responsibilities Deliver an unparalleled Guest experience through the best combination of food, drinks and games. Act as ambassador to the building, greeting Guests with a positive attitude and enthusiasm while coordinating game rentals, merchandise sales, and telephones. Smiles and greets Guests upon entering, and bids farewell to Guests leaving, ensuring everything was satisfactory and inviting them to return. Prepare for the shift by ensuring the area is stocked with supplies: menus, silverware, Power cards, gift cards, etc. Review cleanliness and organization of the Front Desk and Host station, ensuring menus are stocked and properly cleaned and maintained. Check for restocking of necessary supplies and bring all areas up to standard. Discuss problem areas with Manager and maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company Team Members to foster cooperation and morale. Notify Manager of any Guest that is perceived to be unhappy, and assist other Team Members as needed. Drive table turn timing by scouting open tables, bussing and cleaning tables as necessary, and rotating seating to ensure fairness and balance. Manage flow from the front doors, efficiently helping Guests with needs and directing as needed, managing wait times and communicating information to Guests, Team Members, and Managers. Deliver silverware as Guests are seated. Make timely and accurate calculations of bill transactions, handle reconciliation of any monies from banks, complete “To Go” order transactions, and sell merchandise from the Front Desk if applicable. Service guests with a smile while processing transactions, responding calmly to dissatisfied Guests, and transferring issues to Manager when necessary. Requirements At least 16 years of age. Must be able to read and communicate in English. Must articulate clear greetings, requests for assistance, and farewells to Guests. Must be skilled at calmly responding to dissatisfied Guests and calling issues to Manager attention. Experience in restaurant, retail, or cashier preferred but not required. Can work days, nights, and/or weekends as required. Must be able to stand and walk for entire shift, lift and carry up to 30 pounds, reach, bend, and stoop frequently. Must be able to handle noisy, fast paced environment with distracting conditions. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this position, the Team Member will regularly be required to work nights or weekends, work in a noisy, fast paced environment, read and write handwritten notes, lift and carry up to 30 pounds, move about the facility and stand for long periods of time, walk or stand 100% of shift, reach, bend and stoop frequently.
