One Agency, One Mission: Public Safety The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office is looking for an Emergency Communications Supervisor to oversee and supervise our Emergency Communications Operators. This is a hands–on supervisory role with assigned shifts. The position requires availability for shifts in a 24/7 environment, including weekends and holidays, and flexibility to meet operational needs as necessary. The Emergency Communications Supervisor will provide administrative and supervisory support to the Communications Center, train staff, and perform the duties of an Emergency Communications Operator, including dispatching law enforcement, fire, medical, and emergency services personnel and equipment. View the full job description at What You'll Be Doing Supervisors have mastery‑level knowledge of all Emergency Communications Operator duties and serve in that capacity, as well as functioning as Communications Training Officers for trainees when necessary. Exercise direct and indirect supervision of Emergency Communications Operators. Provide administrative support to the Communications Manager by collaborating on schedules, policies, procedures, training, goals and objectives of the Communications Center. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse population to include the public, staff, other criminal justice agency personnel, county government staff and volunteers. Learn applicable Sheriff’s Office policies and procedures pertaining to the dispatch of law enforcement, fire and medical for the county and user agencies. An understanding of employee development practices, including training, mentoring and preparing written evaluations or performance‑related documentation. Work in a fast‑paced environment, exercise good judgment and prioritize tasks to maintain efficient operation of the communications center. Ability to adopt emerging technologies enhancing team collaboration and productivity. Honest and ethical professional who can guide a team through changes and challenges. Qualifications Two (2) years of increasingly responsible duties in a communications center required; experience working for a law enforcement agency preferred. High School diploma or GED required. Possession of, or ability to obtain, CPR, EMD, NCIC/CCIC certifications required. Successful completion of the drug screen is defined as obtaining a negative result.
