Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Location unspecified. This position involves providing specialized nursing care within a 30-bed medical surgical and progressive care unit focusing on critical care practices such as mechanical ventilation and oxygen therapy. The role emphasizes patient safety, clinical skill development, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams in a dynamic environment.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license in SD or a compact state, BLS (American Heart Association), and ACLS (American Heart Association) certification. Minimum of 1 year of experience in critical care, medical-surgical, or equivalent setting.
• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Every other weekend and holiday work required.
• Additional Information: New RNs receive unit-specific orientation, including competencies validation and online modules. The unit cares for patients with diagnoses such as pneumonia, COPD, congestive heart failure, COVID-19, pulmonary embolism, and other complex conditions requiring critical respiratory and cardiac interventions. Clinical skills include BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow oxygen, moderate sedation, telemonitoring, and ventilator management.
