Schedule: Days – Monday-Friday; 8am-5pm; standard schedule to start (40 hours per week)

About the Role

ShareSTAFF is hiring an Anatomic Pathologist (MD) for a contract assignment at a Hospital – On-site; may rotate between affiliated facilities as needed in Louisville, Kentucky. Outpatient anatomic pathology locum in Louisville, KY. Monday–Friday, no call, no weekends. High-volume academic pathology: 150–200 slides per day / 20–30 cases per day. General AP cases; cytopathology is opt-in. Academic or cancer center experience preferred due to case complexity. Provider works between UofL Hospital and affiliated facilities as needed. Frozens not expected initially; may be added for long-term candidates. Cerner EMR. 31-week engagement beginning August or September 2026; extension likely.

What You'll Do

• Read general AP cases: 150–200 slides/day, 20–30 cases/day (high volume)
• Cytopathology: opt-in or opt-out — candidate can specify on presentation
• Rotate between UofL Hospital and affiliated facilities as needed
• Autopsies: optional
• Typically offered only to long-term providers
• Frozens: not expected right away — potential future add-on for right candidate
• Collaborate with AP faculty across UofL Health system
• What is NOT required immediately:
• Frozens (may be added later)
• Call (may be added for long-term/right-fit candidate — flag on all candidate calls)
• Autopsies (optional)

What You Bring - Required

• MD or DO — active Kentucky medical license OR IMLC Letter of Qualification
• Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology (required)
• Cytopathology board certification: preferred, not required
• DEA registration — required to start
• BLS (AHA) — required to start
• ATLS, PALS, ACLS listed in ShiftWise as required
• Atypical for AP pathology
• CAQH profile — required for credentialing
• KASPER account (Kentucky prescription monitoring) — required
• ECFMG certificate (if international medical graduate)
• Academic center or cancer institute background strongly preferred due to case complexity and mix.

What You Bring - Preferred

• Subspecialty training or certification (e.g., cytopathology, hematopathology)
• Experience in the assigned environment (academic health system, cancer institute, reference laboratory)
• Laboratory information system / EMR proficiency (e.g., Cerner)
