Whether you are early in your career or an expert in your field, you will find HSS an innovative, supportive and inclusive environment.Working with colleagues who love what they do and are deeply committed to our Mission, you too can be part of our transformation across the enterprise.Emp StatusRegular Full timeWork ShiftDay (United States of America)Compensation RangeWhat you will be doingJOB DESCRIPTION· Clinic settingo Prepare patient chartso Collect patient historyo Physician order entry by protocolo Prepare physician orders for signatureo Performing clinical procedures to include:Performing aseptic proceduresTaking vital signsPreparing patients for the physician’s carePerforming venipunctures and nonintravenous injectionsObserving and reporting patients’ signs or symptomso Assisting with patient examinations or treatmentso Brace fitting, casting, splintingo Gait trainingo DME and exercise trainingo Creates individualized exercise and rehab programso Coordinates patient appointments and other ancillary testso Assist with coordinating testing, physical therapy and physician referrals, medication prescriptions, and follow up visits as recommended by the physiciano Documents all patient interactions in the electronic health recordo Act as a liaison between physician, clinical support, and administrative staff to promote effective and efficient patient careo Serves as medical scribe to the physician· Athletic & Community Eventso Serving as medical staff under the supervision of an MD in the routine prevention and treatment of medical injuries as well as providing first aid and emergent careo Sports Physicals· Community Outreacho Performing healthcare screeningso Community education· As neededo Supports clinic efficiency by assisting in other areas such as:Administrative tasks (making appointments, scanning records, coordinating care with outside providers, obtaining prior authorizations, etc.)o Development of procedures and protocolso Perform other duties as assignedEDUCATION REQUIREDBachelor's or Master's Degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE-accredited programCurrent Florida Athletic Trainer LicenseCurrent BOC CertificationCurrent BLS/CPR & AED CertificationSuccessful completion of Florida-required fingerprinting and background screeningSKILLS PREFERREDExperience in orthopedic or sports medicine practiceEMR/Epic experienceBilingual skills (English/Spanish)Non-Discrimination PolicyHospital for Special Surgery is committed to providing high quality care and skilled, compassionate, reliable service to our community in a safe and healing environment.
