ARN - Operating Room Registered Nurse

Summary: Provide professional nursing care in the operating room, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout surgical procedures. Take charge nurse responsibilities as assigned, coordinating care and maintaining high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patients and identify their care needs.
• Organize and implement appropriate patient care plans.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Administer medications as prescribed.
• Recognize and respond to life-threatening situations promptly.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and relevant patient records.
• Participate in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.
• Adjust care based on age-specific physiological and psychosocial needs.
• Support patients' cultural and spiritual beliefs within medical guidelines.

Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Must hold current Registered Nurse licensure in a Compact state.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year operating room nursing experience required. Enjoy a schedule with no weekends, call, or holidays.

Skills and Abilities: Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Effective organizational and leadership capabilities. Knowledge of age-specific patient needs and developmental considerations.

Physical Requirements: Ability to communicate clearly, observe patients closely, and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and lifting. May involve exposure to blood or infectious materials.

Certifications: BLS certification from the American Heart Association and active RN licensure.
