Senior Safety Methods Engineer

To support reactor safety and licensing work, the contract Senior Safety Methods Engineer will develop and qualify system-level thermal-hydraulic analysis methods, perform steady-state and transient analyses, and collaborate across disciplines, with onsite and remote work options available for exceptional non-local candidates. Key responsibilities Develop methods for Licensing Basis Events (LBE) analyses to support reactor design and licensing Perform steady-state and transient system-level analyses to assess model performance and fidelity requirements Document methodologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align thermal hydraulic methods with design and safety analysis workflows Required qualifications Degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, Chemical Engineering, or a related field 3+ years of experience in system-level thermal hydraulic modeling and method development for nuclear or complex energy systems Experience with thermal hydraulic analysis tools such as RELAP5 3D, GOTHIC, or SAS Strong foundation in thermal fluids and reactor system behavior, particularly in advanced reactor designs Familiarity with scientific programming and workflow automation (Python, MATLAB)
