If you're compassionate, dependable, patient, and enjoy working with people, you could be a great fit for our team in Chantilly, VA.What You'll Do:As a Direct Support Professional, you'll provide person-centered support based on each individual's goals, preferences, abilities, and needs.Support Independence:Help individuals develop and strengthen daily living and life skills.Provide assistance with personal care and activities of daily living when needed.Encourage individuals to make choices, express preferences, and build confidence.Support personal goals and celebrate progress along the way.Build Community Connections:Accompany individuals on community outings, recreational activities, volunteer opportunities, and educational experiences.Help individuals develop meaningful social connections and participate in their community.Encourage independence and active participation in everyday activities.Create Meaningful Experiences:Assist with planning and facilitating engaging recreational, educational, and life-skills activities.Adapt activities based on each individual's interests, strengths, and abilities.Encourage individuals to explore new interests and develop new skills.Work as a Team:Communicate effectively with families, caregivers, supervisors, and other members of the support team.Follow individualized service plans and company procedures.Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation using company-provided technology.Promote a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment.What We're Looking For: You don't need to have a perfect background to make a difference. We value compassion, reliability, patience, and a genuine desire to help others succeed.Required Qualifications:High school diploma or GED.At least two years of relevant work or life experience.Valid driver's license.Reliable personal transportation with current auto insurance.Ability to travel within the community.Ability to successfully complete required background screenings and drug screening.Basic computer skills and ability to learn electronic documentation systems.Experience That Can Be Helpful:Direct Support or disability services.Caregiving or personal care.Human services.Education or tutoring.Behavioral health.Vocational or employment services.Community-based programs.Working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.Don't have DSP experience?
