Family Medicine Physician

The Physician is a licensed independent practitioner who is responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for patients in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations and the standards of care (assessment of health status, diagnosis, development of plan of care and treatment, implementation of treatment plan, and evaluation of patient status). Physician will provide APRN providers medical supervision, chart review and advise on clinical issues.
Work is guided by internal policies and protocols and approved guidelines. The physician provides clinical direction and consultation to all levels of medical and professional staff; assists in the development of diagnostic and treatment protocols; participates in or conducts in-service training programs.

Education
Minimal: Medical practitioner degree (MD or DO) from accredited medical program. Board Certification or Board Eligible in Family Medicine/Primary Care.
License/Certificates
Minimal: Current Medical license in the state you are providing care.
Working Conditions
May be exposed to a variety of healthcare settings including clinical, office and/or maintenance environments.
Physical/Mental Abilities Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend and stretch in order to retrieve supplies and operate standard office equipment
- Ability to lift, hold and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to communicate and respond to inquiries both in person and over the phone
- Ability to operate a PC/laptop and other office equipment
- Ability to handle varying and often high levels of stress
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and information security
- Must be able to see with or without corrective eye wear
- Must be able to hear clearly with or without assistance of a hearing aide
- Considerable knowledge of professional nursing and basic medical theory and practice
- Considerable knowledge of the nurse practitioner guidelines, rules, regulations
- Ability to discriminate between normal and abnormal findings
- Ability to follow patients through periods of illness in an independent or collaborative relationship with a physician
- Ability to coordinate preventive services and collaborate in the ongoing care of patients
- Ability to act as a medical consultant to other nursing personnel

- Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions and to follow written protocols.
- Follow company policies to ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA and other regulatory agencies. Utilizes universal precautions in handling infectious materials
- Actively participates in the development of implementation of process improvements
- Evaluates and treats patients with acute and chronic complaints. Obtains a complete medical history and performs physical assessments appropriate to the patient's presenting complaints and age.
- Analyzes, interprets and evaluates subjective and objective findings to develop an assessment in order to initiate a treatment plan or referral to appropriate physician or provider
- Performs routine therapeutic duties (e.g. providing first aid care, wound care, suturing minor wounds and lacerations, suture removal, incision and drainage procedures).
- Develops plan of care based upon assessment, which includes prescribing appropriate medications and treatments, providing follow-up care and evaluating the effectiveness of care
- Promotes healthy living through education and primary prevention. Provides patient education regarding medications, treatments, anticipated outcomes and referrals
- Provides appropriate documentation in the medical chart
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Standards of Employment

- Has no more than 5 absence occurrences (absence or tardy) within a rolling 12 month period
- You understand there are three locations and you might be asked to help cover. Clinics are open twelve hours a day and when people are off you will be expected to help cover clinic

Benefits:
- $250,000–$300,000 base salary
- 36–40 hour week, Monday–Friday only (no call)
