Automation ProgrammerMEW is seeking a highly motivated Programmer / Automation Technician to join our automation team to provide technical support and help to develop software solutions that support the growth and sustainability of renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate is reliable, is a self-starter, is a free thinker, and has an eye toward improvement, optimization, and security.ResponsibilitiesDevelop software/hardware solutions to address the specific needs of renewable energy projectsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define project goalsBasic control panel or cabinet designAssemble and install automation and networking cabinetsConduct thorough testing and quality assurance to ensure software/hardware performance and reliabilityMaintain and support existing software applications, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they ariseCollaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and create scalable software solutionsAssist in maintaining backups of programs and changesAssist in maintaining documentation of new sites and changes to existing sitesAssist in project tracking and documentationQualifications & SkillsStrong experience as a Programmer (ex. Allen Bradley, Ignition, Automation Direct)Some knowledge or experience in IT and networkingSome knowledge of electrical systems and safe practicesSome field installation experienceStrong knowledge of Automated systems such as VFDs, pneumatics, analog pressure and temperature sensors, 4-20mA controls, 24V discrete controls, relays, contactors, Modbus485, and ModbusTCPStrong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex requirementsExcellent teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teamsDetail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality software solutionsAbility to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies and programming languagesStrong written and verbal communication skillsPhysical Demands RequirementsWork Environment This job mainly operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.Physical Demands This is largely a sedentary role with some travel required. This would require the ability to enter, travel in, and exit vehicles and airplanes.
