POSITION: LPN - Medical Surgical- 5400 SCHEDULING DETAILS AND CHARTING • Shift hours/Contract Length: 3x12 DAYS 0700-1900, 13 weeks. • Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend • Charting: EPIC experience required • RTO/Block & Special Scheduling Requests: Must submit requests upon submission • Call off Policy: The client may cancel (call off) up to three shifts during a 13-week contract period without incurring charges for the canceled hours. • Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed • Accept First-Time Travelers: Yes • Locals Accepted? Radius Rule: Locals accepted for LPN's at ***** less. REQUIRED LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS • Pending License Accepted: No, Must have an active New York Single State LPN license. (NY is not Compact) • Required Certifications: BLS REQUIRED CLINICAL SKILLS • Experience Required: Must be able to take own patient assignment, with the support of an RN; Acute Care experience within the last 2 years • Vital signs, pain assessment, intake/output monitoring, isolation precautions, physical restraints, specimen labeling, Oxygen administration via nasal cannula, Feeding tube management, Telemetry monitoring, 12-lead EKG • Medication administration (oral, IM, SQ, NG/G-tube, ear and eye drops), IV therapy with pumps, blood glucose monitoring • Wound care basics (simple dressings, JP/Hemovac drains), bathing and mouth care, Foley catheter insertion (male/female), clean catch urine collection, communication of status changes to RN/MD, MS/Tele care setting UNIT DETAILS AND FLOATING • Ratios: Days: 1:5-6 • Unit Details: Medical patients - COPD exacerbation, infections, failure to thrive, social issues • Floating: Will be required to float within skillset • Scrub Color: Any combination of navy blue and white HOSPITAL HIGHLIGHTS Rochester General Hospital is a 528-bed acute care teaching facility in Rochester, NY.
