Now Hiring: Heavy Equipment Technician El Campo, TX (Shop & Field Roles Available)

Mustang Cat is actively hiring experienced Heavy Equipment Technicians for both shop and field service roles in El Campo, Texas. In this hands-on position, you'll repair and maintain Caterpillar construction equipment from compact machinery to large earthmoving unitssupporting job sites and customers across the region.

This is a high-impact opportunity for a skilled diesel mechanic who enjoys diagnostics, independence, and the satisfaction of returning machines to top performance.

What You'll Do as a Heavy Equipment Technician:

As a Caterpillar Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a key role in maintaining and repairing diesel-powered equipment both in the shop and out in the field. Responsibilities include:

• Diagnose and repair Caterpillar and allied-brand construction equipment
• Perform diagnostics using Cat ET and other software tools
• Service electrical, hydraulic, fuel, and undercarriage systems
• Complete preventative maintenance and parts installation
• Restore equipment to working condition in a shop or field setting
• Operate independently or collaborate with service mentors as needed

Requirements:

Must own the tools necessary to perform repairs

High school diploma or equivalent required

Knowledge of transmissions, undercarriage, track systems, fuel systems

Strong understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems

Experience using Cat ET or similar diagnostic software

Prior experience in construction equipment service or military equipment repair

Strongly Preferred Experience:

Welding and fabrication (MIG, arc welding, gouging, torch use)

Experience with hydraulic pumps, valves, and motor components

Manufacturer or dealership training in construction equipment repair

Familiarity with Caterpillar or competitor brand machinery

Heavy Equipment Technician levels and compensation are based on skill set, experience, and training.
