Description: The unit has 10 labor beds and 13 postpartum beds, along with 2 operating rooms. Staffing is growing rapidly, typically including 4-5 Labor RNs and 2 Postpartum RNs on days and nights, along with a birth registrar on weekdays. The unit provides 24/7 in-house OB and Neonatology support. Patient ratios vary depending on the stages of labor. Equipment includes labor tubs for midwifery patients and a fetal monitoring system. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech and CPN. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility and teamwork. Typical procedures performed on the unit include labor, vaginal deliveries, C-sections, inductions, and OB emergency department triage. The culture emphasizes teamwork and growth opportunities within the unit. Floating to the postpartum area may be required if needed. Scrubs are provided by the facility. One to two on-call shifts per month may be preferred.
