Data Engineer - Freewheel

Salary: $103,643.32 - 170,271.17 per year Requirements:

• Strong SQL skills and proficiency in a programming language, preferably Python
• Experience with distributed computing frameworks such as Apache Spark
• Knowledge of cloud data warehouse management and at least one cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Familiarity with data pipeline design patterns and data observability
• Exposure to embedded business intelligence tools such as Looker is desirable but not required
• Experience with modern data stack tools such as dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, or Apache Spark is highly desired
• Exposure to data consumption challenges and solutions is highly desired
• Bachelors degree preferred; we may also consider a combination of coursework and experience or extensive relevant professional experience
• 5–7 years of relevant work experience

• Design, build, and manage data architectures and pipelines that standardize and transform data while preserving its integrity for business insights
• Maintain data quality throughout ingestion, processing, and loading, and develop ingestion frameworks for varied data types
• Monitor and report on data quality
• Provide accessible data consumption methods, including APIs, database views, and data extracts for user applications
• Implement data solutions across platforms such as Kubernetes, Teradata, AWS, and Databricks
• Choose storage platforms based on data sensitivity, privacy requirements, and access needs
• Manage data lineage and apply transformation rules to support change management and resolve issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data sourcing, processing, quality, and efficiency
• Exercise independent judgment and discretion on significant matters
• Maintain regular, punctual attendance and work nights, weekends, or variable schedules as needed
• Carry out other assigned duties and responsibilities
