Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed PICU setting managing a broad range of diagnoses including Medical, Surgical, Neuro, and Cardiovascular ICU patients, all within a single unit
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2, delivering high-acuity pediatric critical care
• Monitor patients on bedside Philips monitors; recognize rhythm changes and implement appropriate interventions
• Operate and manage respiratory therapy equipment including Avia, Servo U, Home Vents Trilogy, and LTV ventilators in collaboration with the care team
• Float to step-down or lower levels of care by rotation as needed; NICU/NIC float is at the traveler's discretion
• Adhere to a drug-free campus policy, including a negative drug screen for all panels prior to start

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• BLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience (candidates with intermediate/step-down experience may be considered)
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at the standard contract rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with ventilator management including Avia, Servo U, Trilogy, and LTV platforms
• Familiarity with cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation in a pediatric population
• Prior experience floating within a pediatric hospital environment
