Senior Orthopedic Technician

The Senior Orthopedic Technician is an experienced member of the Sports Medicine clinical care team, providing advanced orthopedic technical services and specialized procedural support to patients and medical care providers. Working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals, the Senior Orthopedic Technician serves as a knowledgeable clinical resource while supporting treatment, procedures, and an exceptional patient experience. This position supports the Sports Medicine service line across the Sacramento (C Street) location and the Edwards Family Athletics Center in Davis, based on operational needs.

Clinical duties performed within the Orthopedic Technician scope of practice are supervised by a Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) as required. Clinic and Department management provide direction for administrative responsibilities and functions that do not require LIP supervision.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Orthopedic Technologist Certification and/or recent completion of two (2) years of Orthopedic technical work
• American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR
• High school diploma and/or equivalent work experience
• 3 years of work experience in the medical field

We work closely with therapists, trainers, nutritionists, psychologists, and other allied health professionals to obtain an optimal outcome. Our approach involves attentive listening and personalized care for each patient, with the goal of eliminating pain and optimizing function. Our sports performance lab provides a host of assessments to evaluate current fitness levels, determine effective course of action, and monitor improvement.
