Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse Location Not specified Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule 12-Hour Day Shift: 7 AM - 7 PM with a weekend requirement (usually every other weekend). Job Description We are seeking a qualified Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse to join our team. The nurse will be assigned to the float team and will provide critical care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit. Responsibilities Monitor and manage patients with serious medical conditions, including but not limited to heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, and post-operative recovery. Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and interact with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure the highest standard of patient care. Provide telemetry monitoring and management of patients requiring advanced observation. Handle intravenous (IV) therapies, including initiation, maintenance, and discontinuation related to cardiac drips and insulin management. Engage in education and support for patients and their families regarding diagnoses and treatment plans. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Minimum of 1 year clinical experience required, specifically in progressive care or telemetry nursing. Must hold active certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS prior to starting the position. Recent experience with the EPIC documentation system preferred.
