Job Description

A Generalist, HR and Benefits Support provides day-to-day HR support for the Company Route Purveyors and corporate office employees, and supports the service delivery and program support for the benefits program across the Boar's Head Brand. The position will focus on resolving employee issues, front-line communication programs, organizational effectiveness, and supporting related employee relations training programs and initiatives. Within benefits, this role supports general administration, open enrollment, payroll, and reporting efforts. This position focuses on data analysis and compilation and is accountable for developing and distributing critical reports/dashboards to the organization. Responsibilities include assisting management in developing, implementing, and maintaining programs that will help our ongoing commitment to our employees.

Essential Functions

HR Company Route Representative

• Interviews employees and discusses personnel, human relations, and work-related problems that adversely affect morale, health, and productivity.
• Evaluates and resolves human relations, employee relations, and work-related problems and meets with management to determine appropriate action.
• Administers policies, processes, and procedures associated with employee relations
• Monitors and implements measures that decrease workplace dissatisfaction and improve overall employee morale.
• Provides execution of recruitment and onboarding for the organization.
• Completes employee personnel transactions and maintains associated records.
• Maintains strong employee and community relations.
• Investigates issues such as employee appeals.
• Performs reviews, corrective actions, meets with the management team to set direction, and solves issues when appropriate.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including EEO, ADA, FMLA, and FLSA.
• Ensures mutual respect and diversity efforts are properly implemented.
• Ensures fairness and consistency of all company policies and corrective actions.
• HR reporting, receiving, and interpreting all report requests from internal customers

Benefits

• Processes weekly benefit billing and coordinates with Finance to ensure deadlines are met
• Assists with the design and administration of various company programs and initiatives, including Wellness and Rewards & Recognition
• Assists in benefits communications and open enrollment
• Assists with the completion of benefit audits, including new hire enrollments, open enrollment, 1095-C, and 401(k) open enrollment
• Have a working knowledge of employment law as it relates to FMLA, EEOC, ADA, I-9 compliance, and employment verification
• Ability to interpret the policy to address questions from employees
• Works with the Benefits Manager and benefits integration through the HRIS system
• Ability to perform other HR-related functions as requested, including HRIS, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in human resource management or a relevant field
• A minimum of 5 years of HR and Benefits experience
• Familiarity with human resource policies and procedures to ensure that HR meets organizational needs and goals.
• Practical experience with HR database administration, including payroll systems
• Good communication and time management, and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Thorough understanding of database construction and all areas of information systems, with highly technical knowledge of at least one commercial HR Systems product
